Blankets, Boots and Booty

How's that for a catchy title? This week has been busy! I managed to get started on the quilting of my quilt. I still have a long way to go but hey, it's a start. Here's a pic of the quilt basted together with pins...

Last night Drew and I went and bought my boots for Central Asia. They are Timberland Chocoura Trail and come in both men and women's versions. They are waterproof, very comfy and were very reasonably priced. We didn't buy boots with lining for warmth since we'll be inside a lot. I think these will be great and a wonderful upgrade from my Show Shoe boots!

Finally, we've been doing Secret Cupid this week at work. I was going to take pictures of what I did each day but only remembered to do it once. Oops! We have five days of exchanging gifts and then we'll have a lunch together on Wednesday to reveal who was each person's cupid. We're not supposed to spend more than $10 and the point is just to encourage our sisters. This is definitely an advantage of working at a church! We also were given a sheet with some information on our person's favorite things so we have an easier time giving them gifts. Here's what I gave my cupid for the first day...

The second day she got a card and information on how to download free books on the internet since she likes to read. (Go to http://books.google.com/. It's really very cool!) Then yesterday I gave her a bag of microwave popcorn and a coke because she said those are her favorites. I have two more days left. Hopefully I'll remember to take some pics. I'm pretty positive she doesn't read my blog so it's safe to write about!

Oh yeah, I've gotten some delicious home-made brownies with an encouragement book, a box of strawberry shortbread cookies and a notepad and a mug with hot chocolate. That's the booty part of the post! :-)

So yeah, that's my week. I'm looking forward to the weekend and our Sunday school class's annual Super Bowl party tomorrow. Go Colts!
