My Five Minutes of Fame

So, a few weeks ago I received an e-mail from the NCSU alumni association and they were asking for interesting stories about your time during finals while you were in college for a feature they were going to do in their magazine. I had a very interesting and unforgettable story during school so I went on-line and submitted it. I don't receive copies of the alumni magazine so I didn't know how I'd know if they'd chosen my story but a few days ago a friend of mine from school wrote me on Facebook and told me he'd seen my story and remembered it as well! He scanned the page and e-mailed it to me. I've added the whole page and then cut out my story so you can see what I wrote...

Yep, this is my only time spending the night with someone in the hospital. My roommate, Erika, started feeling sick on a Saturday afternoon in the fall of our sophomore year and before I knew it we were headed to the emergency room. They did some tests and immediately told us she was going to have to have her gallbladder removed. They took her in and did the surgery and we were there for the night. Everything went smoothly and we had lots of help from our friends when we got back to the dorm but I sure did bomb that Organic Chemistry exam. It was my worst grade ever, but there was a big, huge curve in that class so I came out with a B. Amazing, I know, but that's how things roll sometimes. I was just thankful that Erika was okay and that I could be there for her. And now we're just a little famous too! Sweet!
