Christmas 2009

Well, Drew and I are back home from our Christmas travels. We've been gone since last Tuesday and had a great time with both our families. We first went to Rocky Mount and spent some time with Drew's parents and his sister and brother-in-law and our nephew. We had Christmas there and had a lot of fun hanging out and spending time together. We cooked an awesome Christmas dinner with some new recipes, played a lot with Noah (he absolutely adores Drew!) and had fun playing cards with David and Betty.

After a quick overnighter at our apartment we headed to Hickory on Saturday and opened presents and had awesome food with Drew's grandparents and aunts and uncle and cousins. Then we drove on to Murphy to spend time with my family.

The highlight of our time there was getting to hear my brother preach at my parents' church. He did a great job! We are so proud of him! Drew and I were also able to share about our future overseas service and get some new prayer partners which was also exciting. We also spent good time with my family and had lots more good food.

We finished the trip with an overnighter in Hickory so we could spend some more time with his grandparents. We don't get to do that much, especially since his parents moved, so it was nice to be there with them. In addition, we got to see our good friends, Adam and Sara Swecker, this morning before we left because they were there visiting her parents. They live outside D.C. so we don't get to see them much so this was a very special treat.

So, all in all we had a wonderful Christmas with our families. With Drew being a teacher and me only working part-time we have the flexibility to spend lot of time with our families over the holidays and that is a huge blessing. I can't believe 2009 is practically over! 2010 here we come!!!

Enjoy the pics of our vacation...
