Goals for the New Year

Well, I didn't make any resolutions this year but I did try to come up with some goals that I have for the next few months before we leave. I wanted to try to be intentional with how I'm spending my time and keep focused on what needs to be done before we leave. Here's what I came up with and what I've done so far, in no particular order of importance...
  1. Have people over for dinner- I have some people I defintely want to invite and have been working on this.
  2. Work on learning the local language- We have texbooks and have started this process.
  3. Serve at With Love from Jesus at least once a month- Drew and I went on Saturday and it was a huge blessing!
  4. Share the gospel and lead someone to Christ- Drew and I had the chance to spend about an hour sharing with a Chinese student on Sunday we met through church. What a cool experience! I want more!
  5. Make a will- We need to find a good, trustworthy lawyer in the area. Anybody know one?
  6. Sort through and get rid of stuff- I have a pile of Christmas stuff to get rid of so far.
  7. Visit Danielle- I so hope I get to do this!!!!
  8. Start a prayer partners network- I sent out e-mails to people last week and am hearing back.
  9. Share at my parent's church again- We need to figure out a time when we can get back to do this.
  10. Find other churches to partner with- Nothing doing here yet...
  11. Host a prayer tea- I want to have some ladies over so we can pray for the women in my region.
  12. Plan a trip/vacation- We want to do something fun before we leave or after our summer trip.
  13. Finish my quilt- I've made 5 more squares since I wrote these goals!
  14. Plan our summer- This includes getting visas, buying plane tickets, finding housing...a big one!

So that's my list! I don't think it's too much. I just need to stay focused. At the end is an exciting summer and new life in a new place (as represented by the picture), which will help keep me motivated!

Hi Leslie,

Please add me to your prayer list and I also know of a good lawyer who is a believer and helped me with my will before I went overseas. He even gave me a discount because of the work I was going to do in Central Asia. (Can't promise he would do that again but he might.) His name is Joe Mitchiner. If you need more info, let me know by email.

Thanks!
Kristy N.
