Today was our third annual Raleigh Gardens Back-to-School Health Fair. Some of you may be wondering why we had a back-to-school event in June when school just ended...well the kids that live in Raleigh Gardens actually attend year-round school and will be finished at the end of this month and then go back to school on July 7th. In light of this, we had it in June! Usually it's cooler in June than in August but today was pretty hot. However, the Lord provided us with cloud cover for most of the afternoon, which was a huge answer to prayer and we were so thankful for it!
We had a lunch of hotdogs and chips and then had health care providers for the children and their families to visit including nurses and a dental bus. We also had an illusionist there this year sharing the gospel with the children and their parents, which was awesome! Then, after the kids visited the booths they could pick up a filled back-pack for the new school year. It was a fun afternoon and I hope the kids will enjoy their school supplies and that they and their parents will remember the words of truth they heard and be drawn to the Lord!
