14 Weeks

Well, I made it to the second trimester this week!  We were able to celebrate Thanksgiving with the additional blessing of the beginning of week 14.  What a cool day to make this step in the pregnancy.  It humbles me to remember that four years ago at Thanksgiving we'd decided to start trying to have a baby.  Never in our wildest dreams did we think it would take four years for it to happen!  I'm thankful our Lord knows what's best and that He only gives us one day at a time to deal with things.  He has been so good and kind to us throughout the journey.  We are grateful!

Here I am at 14 weeks...

I'm wearing the maternity jeans Betty got me.  Since it was Thanksgiving I thought it'd be nice to have elastic pants!  :-)

We had a good week and a nice Thanksgiving.  We celebrated with our small group in the morning with a time of worship and study of the Word, enjoyed a big lunch in the cafeteria (not the same as being with family, but still good) and had a relaxing afternoon and evening.  We were able to Skype with our families too, which is a picture of what's to come the next few years so it was good practice!

Only two more weeks of training.  We're excited!

One last thing, I wanted to post the goodies our families gave us for the baby last week.  So sweet...

I realized LONG ago (when I was at your stage of life) that sometimes the things we have to really wait on are the things that are extra special to us. And even after 4 years of waiting, God had you right where He wanted you before creating that precious little baby.
I LOVED my pregnancy jeans! They were loaned to me by a friend & I gave them to another after I was done with them. You look mighty cute in yours!

Melissa, we have an appointment on Dec. 19th to find out the sex so hopefully he/she will cooperate since we leave on the 1st!

I hope we get to see you. We're already looking forward to it! :-)
