Nine Months

Well, another month (and a week or so!) has flown by! I can't believe Jadon's first year is going by so fast. It really is amazing! He is doing really well these days and bring such joy to our lives. He's so relaxed and easy-going. So much so that he's not even close to crawling! He has started scooting himself very, very slowly on his bottom (like so slowly you can't actually see him moving but all of a sudden he's in a different position) and he loves to walk. He can stand against the couch now and once again, very slowly, move down the couch. He often chooses to just turn around and grab onto my hands though. A couple of weeks ago he started leaning forward and getting in a halfway crawling position but he had trouble with it and now doesn't do it at all. He just seems to not be very concerned about pushing himself!

He's fairly stingy with his smiles and responds the best to me and to Eliana. He will push at Drew's face to get to me now. He's up to around 19.5 pounds (45%) so he's come a long way the past three months. He loves to eat and is doing a much better job feeding himself now but still mostly gets spoonfed. You can tell he eats a lot of pumpkin, based on the orange tinge of his skin! Easy baby food! He has mostly really struggled to have bowel movements, despite eating a very high fiber diet. We finally found some prunes a couple of weeks ago and that helped some. However, he must have gotten a bug over the weekend because now we're having the opposite problem. Lovely!

He's nursing mostly 4 times a day (5 if he wakes up early) and is mostly taking 2 naps a day and going from around 7pm to 7am at night. It varies within an hour or so. He likes the exercauser, playing with his basket of toys, sitting in the kitchen with me while I cook, playing with Eliana and just being with us. He still doesn't have any teeth and he still uses his pacifier to go to sleep and only rarely sucks his fingers. He does like his bunny at night too.  He loves to babble and grabs everything. He continues to amaze us with how relaxed he is. I've still never even had to use the word "no" with him. Crazy! He's our adorable, laid-back little man. We're so thankful!
