Road Trip

This weekend we took what has become our annual trip up north to visit our friends and co-workers. The fall is a great time to travel and we always enjoy spending time with our friends and seeing what their life is like outside the city. Eliana had a blast this year playing with all the kids and really was just in heaven having buddies around all the time. Drew did his second round of science/technology teaching (last year he taught them how to make water bottle rockets) and taught the older kids how to build their own motor. We also enjoyed watching movies in English on our friend's satellite, lots of yummy food and good conversations. We were spoiled!

Our trip back into the city turned into quite an experience. We had to sit and wait for five hours for the road to open up where they are doing construction and then we had to wait four more hours when there was a wreck in the 3-mile long tunnel through which we drive. Overall it took us 15 hours to get home! Yikes! All things considering though, the trip went well and we made it back safely so we were thankful.

Thanks to all our friends for a great weekend. We'll hope to see you there again next year!

 Just a little learning time

Our friends' new house has an awesome yard!

"Uncle Drew" teaching all about motors

Saturday it rained off and on all day making for beautiful, clear skies on Sunday.

Chillin' in the car during our first delay

Eliana spent time collecting rocks and setting them up on the car.

"Curious George" helped get us through both long waits.

We were all pretty tired and ready to be home at this point!
