Rocket Launch

While we were up north this weekend visiting our teammates Drew taught the older kids how to build water bottle rockets and helped them launch them at a park in their town.  The kids LOVED it and the parents were pretty impressed as well.  Drew also had a good time channeling his technology teacher side.  We even had one kid whose rocket did something Drew had never seen before in all his years of teaching...when it started coming back down through the air it turned upside down and the fins acted as propellers and it spun down like a helicopter.  It was really cool!

I'm sure the kids are looking forward to the next time Drew comes and does another fun project with them!

No rocket-building for Eliana but she had a lot of fun playing outside

I'm pretty sure this is a WWII memorial

One of the kids testing to see if his rocket is balanced

The littles playing in the leaves...Eliana got a big kiss from her little friend next to her!

How fitting that Drew was even wearing his LRMS sweatshirt. I know how smart he is and yet I'm still amazed at the things he does. Watch out science fair when Eliana gets to that point! Love you guys!
