Remont

Remont is the word people use here to describe any type of remodeling and for the past two weeks they have been remonting the back side of our apartment building.  At first we thought they were just taking down the old plaster and fixing it with new plaster.  Well, two days ago we realized there was more to it...new paint!  A crazy, bright, beach house shade of orange paint!  And this is a large building!  Needless to say it is a bit much but hey, we live in Central Asia and they aren't afraid of bright.  At least it's just on the backside of the building.

I took a couple of pictures but you really cannot appreciate the brightness of the color in the pictures.  You'll just have to trust me that is it crazy (or come and see it in person)!  At least it is fresh and new though, right?

Their system of scaffolding is quite intricate and a bit dangerous but everyone seems to be fine so far.  This is also the nice, muted shade of white I thought we were getting!


Nope, bring on the orange!
