A Home-Going

Drew's grandmother, everyone called her Mamaw Moose, went to be with Jesus yesterday, just a few hours away from her 89th birthday.  She endured a long battle with Alzheimer's and after falling around two weeks ago, finally passed away yesterday.  I don't have that many memories with Mamaw Moose, as her health was already declining when Drew and I got married, but I will always remember her as an amazingly generous woman who loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren well.  She did so much for us over the years, we could never repay her.  We will forever be grateful for and remember her generosity and love for us.

Drew's sister wrote a nice post about Mamaw Moose and some of her memories if you are interested in reading more about who she was.  As for me, here are a few pictures in memory of Mamaw Moose...

One thing I do remember is that Mamaw Moose loved her some instant coffee!

I know this is blurry but I love this picture from our wedding rehearsal dinner with my Granny talking Mamaw Moose's ear off.  You can tell how into the conversation Mamaw was!  What a pair!

Christmas 2007

In November we were able to visit Mamaw Moose and let her meet Eliana, her only great-granddaughter.  She has six great-grandsons!

I'm so thankful we were able to see her in November and let her meet Eliana.  That was a very sweet blessing!

We are sad we can't be there for Drew's family during this time and I know that without Drew there, there is a hole.  We trust God to fill that hole though and were prepared for this to happen.  We are thankful for Skype too so we can talk and give as much support as we can.

Praise the Lord for hope of life after death!  Mamaw Moose had that hope and she is at home with Jesus and many others who have gone before.  We pray you too have that hope.  It is life!  Ask me about it if you have any questions!

Here's to a long life well lived!
