Pinterest Project

I think I've mentioned before that I've become a fan of Pinterest.  So far I've only tried recipes and a couple of workouts I found but today I decided to try my hand with something more crafty.  I saw a really cute idea for making a sign to frame that has all your baby's stats from when he or she was born.  I didn't have a template, just a picture to go on, but I gave it a whirl just using Word and I think it turned out quite nicely.  Here's the finished product...

It was a little tricky getting the bottom two pieces of text to look right but after Drew helped me we figured it out.  For those two parts we used WordArt and for the rest just text boxes.  I used the clip art shapes for the circles and grouped them together.  For the colors I stuck with the themes Word had because it was too hard to get complementary colors on my own.

I uploaded my file to Google docs.  If you want to do this yourself you can just click on the link, click on "File" and then click on "Download" and you'll have the file to simply manipulate and change the words and colors.  The girl whose website I saw them on did them in Photoshop Elements if you're interested in trying it yourself.

Now I just need to get it printed on some cardstock, buy a frame and hang it up.  I'm pretty excited!  For a not-so-crafty person, I think it turned out well!

LOVE IT!!!!! I'm so clicking on your file and making some for the boys. I was even commenting how I couldn't remember what time Luke was born. That would be neat to print smaller and stick in their baby books or something! Great job!
