Well, Eliana turned 11 months old last Monday. Crazy! We've had a busy week since then, but hey, better late than never!
Every day Eliana is into more and more things. She just loves crawling around and exploring. Her toys aren't very interesting right now. There are too many other things to look at and play with, some of which include a bit of discipline, like power strips, trash cans and oven doors. She certainly keeps me on my toes!
Eliana is up to 16 pounds 15 ounces (4% and a whole pound up from last month!) and 28.75 inches (50%). She is still eating like a champ, though she is a bit more picky now as to what she lets us feed her and what she wants to feed herself. She does a great job feeding herself too but sometimes she needs some help and she's not such a big fan. She HATES having her face wiped after eating so three times a day we have a meltdown. She still often holds her breath when she cries which stresses me out. I'm amazed at how long she goes sometimes!
We're down to four nursing sessions a day- 7:30ish, 11:00ish, 3:00ish and 7:15ish. I'm starting to think about weaning since we're approaching her birthday but we'll just see how she does drinking cow's milk before I make any decisions. In a way I'm excited to be finished and in a way I'm sad. It's a mix of emotions for me.
Eliana doesn't seem to be close to walking on her own but she is getting braver and has learned how to get down off a chair or the bed. I'm amazed by that! She also loves sitting on mechanical toys at stores and likes to swing. She's branching out!
Eliana is doing a great job with our babysitter and continues to be quite the social butterfly. She waves good-bye, will give the occasional high five and talks all the time. It's really fun hearing her babble all day long. She also loves being near me and still pretty much follows me everywhere I go, unless I stop and sit down and then she wants to roam all over the place.
I feel so blessed to be Eliana's mom. I just still can't get over the fact that I get to have her in my life. I'm amazed! There's this song that's on the radio sometimes even though it's a bit older that I just love singing to her because I think it fits how I feel pretty perfectly (even though it's written as a love song between a guy and a girl and you need to switch the stuff about lips to talking about cheeks). It's called "Just The Way You Are" and whenever it comes on I just sing and sing to her. I always want her to know she is amazing, just the way she is!
Here are some pics with the puppy. This night she was not into having her picture taken with the puppy (I think she also may have a bit of the stubborn gene going on) but they are still cute and she was wearing the dress her Aunt Liv made for her so we went with it.
