Eliana turned ten months old on Friday! I can't believe we're less than two months away from her first birthday. The time is flying by!
The biggest change this month of course is Eliana's mobility. I can't believe how quickly she picked up crawling, standing, cruising and sitting back down. She is all over the place now and loves to follow me everywhere I go. She's also recently started opening and closing doors and is obsessed with this one plastic bottle she finds in the bathroom and with my cell phone. She even holds up the cell phone to her ear sometimes and babbles. It's really cute!
I haven't had a chance to go get Eliana weighed this month but she is up to 28 inches (47%). That is what we measured her at last month too but I'm pretty sure it was user error. This percentage sounds much more reasonable. Some of her 6-9 month onesies are starting to get too short but other than that they fit well. She is still eating like a champ and we've started letting her eat more on her own using the Bumbo seat and tray and she's doing a great job. It makes meal times so much more enjoyable!
Eliana is taking two naps a day now anywhere from 1-2 hours in the morning and 1-2 hours in the afternoon. She still gets really tired in the evening but doesn't really want to lay down anymore so we just fight through it. She's generally in bed by 7:30 though and sleeps until I get her up in the morning between 7:15 and 7:30 so that is wonderful! She's still nursing five times a day- 7:30, 11:00, 3:00 between 5:30 and 6:00 and right before bed. I've thought about cutting the 5:30 feeding and have even forgotten it a couple of times but figure we don't have that much longer left before we start introducing cow's milk so I'll just wait and continue to enjoy this time.
Eliana is enjoying making funny faces and smiles. She still loves being with people and does a great job and doesn't seem to have too much separation anxiety yet. She has done really well with our new babysitter and seems to enjoy the Tajiks we hang out with. She loves to babble and says ma, ga, ba and da sounds a lot. She will generally choose to be with me wherever I am in the apartment and just find something to play with there. She also has learned to shake her head no when she's getting ready to do something she shouldn't or when we say no to her. It doesn't always mean she won't do that wrong thing but it's funny to see her making connections.
Eliana is definitely what we call a "delicate" child and gets quite upset over small things and really, really upset over bigger things like a fall. I see us having to learn a balance between pushing her to do things and helping her overcome her fears. It should be interesting!
So yeah, that's about it. We love our baby girl and are so thankful for her. She is more and more fun all the time. I can't believe I've been a mom for over 10 months. Simply amazing!

Such a big girl!
Melt my heart!
What we'd call a "delicate" moment!
I give good kisses!
One of her silly faces
Happy baby!
I'm 10 months old! Woo-hoo!
