To the Village

We finally got to make that trip to the village we were going to take about six weeks ago.  We ended up at a different place than we'd first planned but it was still nice and fun to get out of the city for a few hours and see something new.  I was amazed at how much snow is still on the mountains just an hour outside the city.  It really was surprising and the temperatures were just wonderful.

Our NGO is going to do a water project in this village because the river there is now like chocolate milk because of a coal plant that has recently started.  There is a nice natural spring close by that we'll cap off and pipe down to the village, using the villagers to do the work.  Hopefully they'll be able to get started in a couple of weeks.

We weren't there long but we met with the two leaders of the village and had a nice lunch.  It will probably be awhile before we get back there but I'm thankful we had the chance to at least go and see one of the places where we're working.

Here are some pics.  The mountains are just amazing!
