A New Project

Well, I'm hoping to soon embark on my new quilting project. I want to do a Christmas quilt and I'm going to use the Log Cabin Variation Pattern. I've bought, washed and ironed the fabric- now I just need to get started, which I'm having a little trouble doing. I'm pretty positive it won't be finished by Christmas but hey, there's always next year! Here's my fabric...

This will be the border and the back

These will be the dark "logs"

These will be the light "logs"

The one with the trees will be the "chimney" and the striped one is the small border

That's the pattern! I hope I didn't pick too many busy fabrics. I'm anxious to see how the squares look. That will require me to get started though! :-)

Oh, I wish I was there to learn this with you! I want to quilt too, but I'll probably never do it. How much did it cost for all the fabrics and stuff??

The fabric cost aroun $40. I got it at Joanne's and everything I picked was on sale. I may have a lot left over though so we'll see. I'll still have to buy the batting and I'll have to buy more thread. It will probably end up costing me around $60, which is what my last one cost. It's certainly not a cost or time-effective project but I do it for the experience. I took a class at my local sewing shop and that was a huge help. You should check that out.
