Last weekend we went to the beach and my brother and two of his friends came along. I didn't take many pictures but I did get a couple of the ocean. The hurricane churned up some really nice waves that the guys really enjoyed. Drew had hoped to try his hand at surfing but it would've been suicide so he declined. It was a great weekend though and we enjoyed relaxing before having to get back to real life.
We also found an apartment! We're going to be less than 2 miles from Drew's school, which will be great for our commute. I'm helping to coach volleyball this year so it is going to be really nice to be closer to school. We really like the apartment we picked. It has a screened-in porch and lots of space! We figured if we were going to pay more to live in an apartment then we have been to live in our house we'd better get as much for our money as we can. It is a second floor apartment though which presents a problem with moving my piano up there but our friend Andy, who has moved many pianos in his life, says we can do it. We move on the 12th.
We have our home inspection tomorrow. We're praying it goes well. There shouldn't be any problems but there is always that thought in the back of your head that something disastrous will happen. I think we'll be okay though.
I also got to meet the buyer last week and he's so excited to live here! He ranked our house a "10" when he looked at it. It's strange to think about someone else living in our house though. This house was built for us and so much has happened in the past five years that we've been here. It's a bit emotional for me, in fact I'm tearing up right now. I know I'll be okay but this is our first home and it's a bittersweet time. Change is good, it's just usually accompanied by crying for me!
Drew started his seminary class this week. He's taking Hermeneutics. Yeah, I didn't know what that word meant either! Basically is the study of learning how to study the Bible and interpret it and apply it to your life. I think it will be a really good class.
We also had volleyball try-outs this week. We started with 46 girls on Tuesday and picked our team of 14 by Thursday! It was crazy! We had our first practice on Friday and I really enjoyed it. It was fun to be able to start teaching the girls and helping them learn how to play volleyball. I wish I'd had this much time and attention given to me when I started playing. I could have been a superstar!
This weekend we were actually able to stay home! I looked back and we'd had stuff going on for the past 11 out of 12 weekends. I'm so glad we were home! We'll be home this coming weekend too. No more traveling until we move.
We also have found out that we're finally moving forward in the process of getting overseas so that is exciting too. Sometimes life comes at you like a tidal wave!
So yeah, that's what's been going on with us. I anticipate the next couple of weeks being similarly busy. It's good though. I'm just praying for emotional strength to endure the changes. Here are few pics of the beach and the floor plan of our new apartment!

I wouldn't have known hermenutics either except that the church we have attended the last two Sunday's has been talking about it. Tell Drew to use exegesis and not eisegesis!
That's a lot going on!! It sounds like all good stuff though. :)
Are you looking forward to moving or dreading it? We're going to begin moving into our new home on September 17th and I'm psyched, but I know it's not always as exciting when you're moving into an apartment...and you're not sure how long you'll be there I'm assuming.
So many things! That's awesome. congrats on your house and moving ahead in the appl. process. We know what a relief both are. We closed on our house the 27th! This month will be insane for us. We'll keep journeying with you.
