Goodbye Red Bedroom

As I have mentioned previously, we are working on getting our house ready to put on the market. This weekend we took another step in that process...painting our red guest bedroom. I have really loved having my red bedroom but we know that in this market we need to do everything we can to cater to a buyer's wants and thought red might be a little much. So, we broke down and painted it again! We used a light brown that we have in our bathroom because it is nice and neutral.

Now, I just want to make sure everyone thinks very carefully before they paint any whole rooms red. Like I said, I loved my red bedroom but it was a lot of work! I think we did five total coats of primer and paint when we painted it red and it could have used more. As a result, when we moved all the furniture and took everything off the walls we saw how bad the paint job looked. It really needed help! It looked awful! It took us four coats of primer and paint to cover over the red. Yeah, red is a lot of work so be sure you think hard about it before you decide to use it on your walls.

So, here are some pictures of our new, subdued, but hopefully buyer-friendly, guest bedroom. It does look nice, even if it's not nearly as exciting! I'm just glad it's over! If you scroll down you can see some more before pictures of the room on my post from June 18th.

Oh yeah, Drew actually trusted Bianca and me to paint the whole bedroom pretty much ourselves. He is a good man! Thanks Bianca for all your help!

The red was way more fun, but I agree the brown is more buyer friendly. nice job. So if we decide to redo Noah's room with a baseball red wall...you aren't volunteering? Just one wall please.....

Wow. It looks a lot different! I know how much work that is too. I just painted Celeste's bedroom here. It is exhausting. Especially considering I did most of it myself while Caleb was at work! However, it thankfully wasn't RED to begin with!! I loved your red room. Goodbye red room!
